Sew Retro, Baby - Progress 1

I got my wish!  Made great progress today.  AND the dishes got done.  Each of the kids got a turn drying...
I found all my Pinks yesterday...  And a large plain white cotton...
Did a lot of tracing templates. Cutting.  More tracing and more cutting, which resulted in this...
Today, I did a lot of sewing....
 And pressing...
And trimming and squaring...   Then I did a layout, just to see if it would look like I imagined....  And it does!
But I am saving that pic for later!

Well, that is the mother of all curved seam blocks. And they were beautifully done. Can't wait to see the final quilt design.

Thanks for droppin' in, Stella! And for the compliment... I can't wait to finish up the trimming and get started on sewing the blocks together tomorrow!

Thank you, Marelize! After watching the video, and doing a few practice pieces, piecing curves without pinning SEAMS to be the way to go.... The fact that I made the blocks oversize and am able to trim them square also doesn't hurt!

Don't you just love it when things come together just how you imagined? It rarely does for me. I've almost forgotten what that feels like, haha!

Oh, Danielle... I know that one quilt that's backing has shifted has got you down, but I have seen the evidence of sew many of your other quilts, which prove you've got what it takes!
